Is SITA-MediCollect licensed to take clinical waste and sharps?

Yes. We can handle all medical waste, including clinical waste and sharps.

What different containers and bin sizes do you have?

SITA-MediCollect has a wide selection on bins ranging from 200ml Mini Fit Sharp containers to our popular 120, 240 and 660 litre MGBs.

In addition to a large selection of sharp containers, we have 20L clinical pails, 20L medical waste pails, 50 L clinical containers, 55 L clinical boxes, and both 120L and 240 L MGBs for clinical, cytotoxic and secure document destruction.

Containers are also available for KIMGUARD Sterile Wrap Recycling and Healthcare for the Environment – single use medical devices. SITA also provides a variety of different sized waste bins for paper & cardboard recycling, general waste, battery and fluorescent lighting recycling and other non-healthcare specific waste.

How often are the bins serviced?

Bins are serviced as often and as frequently as required by our customers. All of our servicing arrangements are customised to suit individual customer needs.

What is your minimum service period for having bins collected?

This varies depending on the type of waste. The minimum collection period for Sharp containers is 12 months.

What happens to the waste after it is collected?

All waste is treated in accordance with Australian legislation requirements. In areas where SITA-MediCollect does not have licensed treatment facilities, SITA transfers the waste to licensed treatment facilities for disposal and/or recycling depending on the type of waste.

What products are you able to recycle?

SITA is a leader in resource recovery. We are able to recycle, or recover secondary resources from the following ‘waste’ products.
