E-waste Recycling

SITA-MediCollect provides a full e-waste collection and recycling service that will collect and dispose of your e-waste ethically and responsibly. This service can be a single e-waste collection service or a dedicated e-waste bin at your site.

SITA supports accredited e-waste recycling and we are able to provide a ‘Certificate of Recycling’ to our customers.

Why recycle e-waste?

E-waste contains toxic and hazardous materials such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and brominated fire retardants.  Items containing these substances are damaging to the environment and should not be sent to landfill.  If disposed of correctly, the recyclable components can be recovered for re-use and hazardous materials can be treated appropriately.

Under the Product Stewardship Legislation passed by the Australian Government in June 2011, a national collection and recycling scheme for televisions, computers and computer products will be introduced in 2012.
