Fluorescent and LED Lighting

SITA-MediCollect can collect fluorescent tubes, lamps and globes for recycling to facilitate the appropriate disposal of these mercury containing products.

Containers to suit your needs 

SITA-Medicollect can provide customed designed 5ft and 4ft Fluorescent tube collection boxes as well as a lamp and globe box.  Larger commercial sites can be provided with stillage containers for onsite collection of higher volumes.

What can be recycled?

All sizes of fluorescent tubes, as well as high intensity discharge (HID) and compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) and mercury containing light globes can be recycled.

Why recycle fluorescent lighting?

The disposal to landfill or incineration of mercury-containing lighting is no longer an acceptable option due to high toxicity levels and more stringent government regulations.

SITA is a Foundation Signatory to the national FluoroCycle scheme and supports the Federal Government's initative to increase the recycling of mercury containing lighting and divert this waste from landfill.
